Join the Club

Chesterfield CC always welcomes new playing and social members.

Senior Cricket

Chesterfield CC sides are managed and coached by Alan Morris and Chris Marples.

The club runs three Senior teams, with the first XI captained by ex-Derbyshire youth player Alex Hibbert playing in the Derbyshire Premier League and the second and third XI playing in Division 2N and 6N respectively of the Derbyshire County League. Occasional League, Cup and friendly games are played on Sundays as well as some third XI games. All home fixtures for the teams are played at Queen's Park, Chesterfield.

The Derbyshire Premier League has ECB status and all first XI matches are played over 100 overs. Second and third XI Derbyshire County League matches are played over 46 overs per side. Start times vary depending on the time of year. See the Fixture List for details of matches this season.

As well as League competitions, the club competes in the Derbyshire Premier Cup competition which includes clubs from the Nottinghamshire Premier League, as well as a second and a third XI Cup Competition.

Players Wanted!

Indoor training session

Any senior players interested in playing for Chesterfield CC should contact us by e-mail, give us a call or simply come down to any of our matches or training sessions at Queen's Park or Cricketal. Weather permitting there are matches every Saturday afternoon between May and September, and training sessions (including artificial turf and grass nets) take place every Tuesday and Thursday evening.

Evening training sessions start at approximately 5.30pm and are an opportunity for players to come along have a net and enjoy the surroundings of Queens Park.

In the winter months, Chesterfield CC has regular net sessions at the Cricketal Indoor Cricket Centre off Storforth Lane, Chesterfield.

Social Membership

Chesterfield CC has a large number of social members, many of who are former players, friends and families, sponsors and spectators. All members and their guests are welcome to enjoy matches from the comfort of the historic pavilion and make use of the licensed bar.

There are few finer places to enjoy the final stages of a cricket match than Queen's Park bathed in the early evening sunshine!

For full membership details please contact us via e-mail or come down to one of our home matches.

Youth Cricket

Chesterfield CC runs seven junior teams – Under 10 and Under 11 Kwik Cricket teams, Under 11 and Under 12 8-a-side teams, Under 13s, Under 15s and Under 17s – all playing in the North Derbyshire Youth Cricket League. Young players, as they mature and progress, are encouraged to practise with and play for the senior teams.

Any junior players interested in playing for Chesterfield should see our separate Junior Cricket section for information and contact details.

Cricket in the Community

The club's community programme in 2007 provided cricketing opportunities for over 1,483 boys and girls throughout Chesterfield and the surrounding area.

The 2008 programme is supported by the Cricket Foundation's Chance to Shine scheme, Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Sport but the club is desperate to find new sponsors for a community scheme that does so much for young people as well as for cricket.

Any offers of contributions or donations are welcomed. Please contact Mike Taylor at any time on (01246) 233807 or 07790 777483 for more information.
