"I always enjoyed playing at Queen's Park Chesterfield, and I always looked forward to umpiring there. It is one of the most picturesque grounds in the world.

I remember playing there for Yorkshire against Derbyshire in 1959. On the Saturday there were 13,000 people in the ground. I think that is the largest crowd they have had at Queen's Park. It was a red-hot day, and there was no space or room anywhere in the ground. I think all Yorkshire and Derbyshire were there. It was a day to remember.
Queen's Park has seen some of the greatest cricketers in the world. There have been great cricket matches played there, from club cricket to county cricket. I have so many happy memories of Queen's Park, memories which I shall always treasure."

"Queen's Park is one of the most delightful grounds in England and has one of the best and quickest pitches in first class cricket. The only snag seems to be the ducks who waddle out and leave their 'logos' on the square."

Geoff Miller, Chesterfield CC, Derbyshire, Essex and England.

"Which time in my career has given me the most satisfaction and enjoyment? A two part question with a two part answer.

Most satisfaction - a Natwest victory for Derbyshire in 1981 and my Test debut in 1976. In both cases the culmination of a lot of hard work.

Most enjoyment - without a doubt, the Chesterfield CC Sunday XI as a raw young lad being guided by some wise old sages and also press-ganged into sculduggery by some real characters. Alan Morris and I often reminisce about the 'summer Sundays' at Chesterfield CC.

A great club which has lasted the sands of time. It was a pleasure to be part of it and hope that it continues to thrive."
